Week/Weekend Review

Again, a busy week and weekend we've put behind us.  And yes, I realize that today is Tuesday and we're already into next week technically, but Sawyer delayed me a day.  More on that later.

So we had a full week of practices...somehow missing most of the rain.

Sumner had baseball on Monday.

Bebe and Sumner had soccer on Tuesday.  Sawyer had baseball.

Sawyer had soccer on Wednesday.  Sumner had baseball.

Bebe and Sumner had soccer on Thursday.  Sawyer had baseball.

Sumner had batting practice on Friday afternoon.

I shipped off the Sass to Papa and Jan's house for the weekend to be spoiled rotten   to keep her out of our hair to keep her cared for and happy.  She would have been none too pleased to be dragged around for this whirlwind of a weekend!  Further allergies were bothering her (cough and runny nose) and chilling at the lake was better than running around with us!

Because...hold on to your hats...we had slated for Saturday the following:

8:00 Soccer game for Sumner
8:00 Soccer game for Sawyer
9-10:15 Volleyball for Bebe
11:00 Baseball game for Sumner
2:00 Soccer game for Bebe
5:00 Baseball game for Sawyer
6:00 Soccer game for Bebe
6:00 Political dinner for Jason
8:00 Fraternity Reunion for Jason

Keeping in mind that this Saturday was the Opening Day for the league that Jason is in charge of...we were not saddened by the fact that the soccer games were cancelled due to wet fields.  We were instantly down from 9 events to 5!  Phew!

This Saturday was Bebe's last volleyball practice for her off-season development team.  I'm sad for her that it's over, but happy to have one less thing on her agenda.  Plus...she's DYING to get back to riding horses!

Sumner's team had a great season opener against a decent opponent.  His team won 20-8!  Smoked 'em actually!  All of the boys had great hits and were good listeners for defense.  Sumner was the lead off hitter and he got a hit each time at bat...which was 5-6 at-bats.  I lost count because I was also the announcer for the game over the PA system! ha ha

Sawyer's team didn't have so great an opener.  His team got beat like 16-1.  He only got one at-bat and he struck out.  He does not like being at the bottom of the line-up and he was like 2 from the end.  The coach is totally inexperienced...Saw's one of the only ones that can hit the ball, but because he's the youngest on the team by like a year and half to two years the coach kinda ignores him.  Ugh!  Jason and I aren't very happy about it, but we're gonna roll with it for now and hope the coach wakes up.

Anywhoo,  Jason had a fraternity reunion later that night.  We ran home changed clothes and hopped in the car.  We picked up some of his 'brothers' and their wives that had flown in from Texas at the Ritz and away we went.  The fraternity had created a speakeasy at a nearby bar and had a 20's themed casino night.  It was lots of fun catching up with friends we hadn't seen in years!  We won the prize for the most kids!  Kidding...but really we did have more kids than anyone there!  Tee hee!  We had a great time and made it home happy, but exhausted at 3:30 am!  That's late for us old-timers!
Here we are in our Great Gatsby get-up!
Just ignore my hair...awful in this pic!
Speaking of the kids...Nana and PawPaw Mason kept the top 3 while we were away.  They even took them to church for us as we were totally MIA...we slept late!
Sunday we cleaned house and piddled around.  Sumner had a tryout for a Challenge league ball team.  We'll see how it goes.  He has day two of the tryout tonight.

Finally, we wrapped up a great weekend, but the week didn't start out as planned.  Poor Saw woke up Monday morning not feeling well.  He threw up from about 8:30 in the morning until 7:30 last night!  Poor guy...couldn't keep anything down!
Don't worry though...he slept through the night and is bouncing off the walls today!
