Happenings

Well this past week...the sun finally came out and it was actually quite lovely out!

Jason and I attended an informational meeting about sending Bebe to an "advanced" middle school.  Mixed feelings on it, for sure.  Maybe I'll share more later.

We finished up the school week with flying colors.  Sawyer got a great reading report!  Little man went from a slightly below average to above average reader this quarter!  *a sigh of relief and a happy dance*

He has been working very hard on sight word lists and reading some little instructional books that I made for him.  He's so proud of these little books.  He even tucked a couple of them beside him in his bed the other night.

Saturday Bebe had volleyball practice and Sumner had a basketball game.  His team lost to a team they killed a month ago.  His team was not very focused on offense and did not play good defense.  I will happily admit that I was not the loudest parent there.  There was 1 other daddy louder than me!  I'm kidding...sort of...I'm really not that loud!  At least I was nice enough to the other parents to sit at the far end of the bleachers by myself so no one had me in their ear!  ha ha

Sumner went home with a friend from his team.  Bebe then was dropped off at the house of one of her friend's and Jason and I and only 2 kids went out for a bite to eat with his parents.  We were only a party of 6.  We got to sit in a booth!

Sunday we had church.  Sumner and this other little boy (the child of the 1 loud daddy from Saturday) were the ushers at church and did the collection plates.  I wish I had a picture of them.  So cute.  They got lots of compliments from the little ol' ladies at church.  Sumner was a vision in his little tie!  After church and lunch we dropped Sumner off at baseball camp.  The rest of us stayed home to piddle around the house and watch football.

Since the Steelers aren't in it (nor Sumner's Chargers) we pulled for the Seahawks.  Winning.

Then we pulled for the Colts...losing...because Bebe has them for this school research thingy they're doing.  She was so upset that she went to bed crying.  I gave her a little speech...something about it just being a game and that she isn't even a "real" Colts fan and what not...that she wasn't buying.

Monday we trekked over to my dad's for his birthday.  We invited ourselves to come down for lunch, snacks, and birthday cake.  My kids ate $200 worth of groceries.  I think in the 4 hours we were there we spent about 10 minutes not eating.  ha ha

So, it's a beautiful Tuesday here and everyone is back to business.  The dog has been dropped off to be "fixed".  I gotta pick him up this afternoon...and come up with an excuse for his visit.  I'm not feeling much like explaining "fixed" to the kids for today! ha

Have a great Tuesday y'all!
