Omagosh...I have so much to catch up on for December. Be ready for an onslaught of posts over the next few days/weeks!

Well, my girl did not make it through to the state science fair, but we are certainly very proud of her for making to the regionals!
At the risk of sounding like a bad sport...we were a bit perplexed at the outcome. It was hard to understand how her project didn't measure up. There were a couple of projects, other than Bebe's, that were really great too and did not go through. We just couldn't make heads or tails out of how the winners were picked. Oh well... Nevertheless, it is a life lesson that sometimes things don't go your way and you have to just enjoy the experience.
Once we got home she did a little bit of crying over it, which we let her have her moment to be upset, and then she pretty much moved on.
I, for one, would have been more than happy to take her to the state competition, but am also slightly relieved that it is one less thing on our 'to do' list!
Aaaaand the Math Fair is coming up and we may be gearing up for that if she's not too burned out of projects and fairs! After both she and her brother have won it at their school for a few years I'm wondering if she isn't kind of over the math fair experience.
We'll see. We have a few weeks to decide.
Here's my girl with her project...
She tested 4 major lakes in a connected river basin chain for about 6 types of contaminants to see if the water would be cleaner near the headwaters than the lower lakes would since the water passes through many more communities and agricultural areas.
In a nutshell...she found it was not true during all seasons of the year, that oftentimes dumping and water treatment schedules and weather can effect your findings.
(Sorry for the major work I had to do to the pic to protect some privacy. Kind of defeats the purpose of posting it, but...oh well.)
