Honestly there was one five-day period, where due to previous rain-outs, we had 11 games scheduled. Seriously, 1 baseball Thurs. night, 1 soccer Friday night, 6 soccer Saturday, and 1 baseball Sunday, 1 soccer Mon. night, and 1 baseball Tuesday night!
It was exhausting, but lots of fun!
Going against my own rule to only play one sport at a time, the top 3 kids were both pulling double seasons this fall.
Bebe was playing 5/6 grade volleyball and U12 soccer.
HOWEVER, she loves volleyball and her team had the nicest girls. And her coach was fantastic so it was a winning season regardless of the final standings.
In soccer, her team went undefeated ALL season and throughout the tournament! They were just so good. Most games were not even close! I have let her really revel in her wins this season because she has been on the other side and knows what it's like to have a less than stellar season. Plus, they played hard and really earned the wins even when all the players weren't there.
The girls on this team are also just so sweet. They always are giggling and playing around. It was fun to see them really come together as a team of friends. The team name is the Wolfpack and after every huddle they would yell, "Wolfpack" and then do a little howl! It was hilarious.

Sumner played 7/8 machine pitch fall baseball and U8 soccer.
Sumner had a great baseball season this fall. He was a big hitter. Basically, he got a hit at bat everytime at the plate. He got thrown out at first a couple of times and one pop fly was caught at second. Um, in case you don't know, that's pretty darn fantastic. The coach moved boys around to different positions, but I think Sumner's favorite was catcher. It's in his blood...his Daddy was a catcher too! He likes it so much that he has asked for his own catcher's gear for Christmas!
He was also scouted for an All-Star travel team this spring/summer. We'll see how that goes!
The team ended up losing only 1 game during the season and won the biggest trophies for the Championship. Sumner hit a home run during the game and the team blew away the opponent 10-2!
In soccer, his team, the Hurricanes, finished fabulously as well. They lost only 1 game in regular season to a team that they ultimately sought sweet revenge on in the tournament! They finished second, losing 3-0, to a really great team that had previously beaten them in the tourney 7-1, So our boys really showed some effort in cutting the score in half!

Sawyer played baseball on Sumner's 7/8 machine pitch baseball team and U6 soccer.
While he did not hit as well as last spring, he still did an excellent job being so young. He's 5 playing 7/8! So he's got time to get his game back. Nonetheless, he had a great time! He loves being one of the big boys. I think he liked being at the pitcher position because it got lots of action!
During soccer, he played on a U6 team called the Intensity. It was anything, but intense. They were the youngest team in the league and played like it. Though they tried hard they did not score 1 goal until the last game of the season! Then they scored 3! Regardless, a goalie was born this season. Sawyer has decided he LOVES keeping goal. He has his own goalie gloves (thanks, Nana) and he is all about diving on the ground and tucking that ball into his chest. No fear. I can't wait to see if his interest in goalie flourishes.

Sass played U6 soccer.
Finally, our one sport-er, The Sass. She played on Sawyer's soccer team. Yes, she's young, but she wanted to do it and she enjoyed goofing with the kids on the team. She was more of a mascot than a real team player! The last 2 games she didn't even go on the field...per our decision, not hers. The competition in the tournament was a little much for her attention span! tee hee
So now we're heading into the last half of November and the games are over. End of season team celebrations are happening. It's time to slow down a bit.
Bebe has declined to play basketball this season. I'm disappointed, but she doesn't know that...so don't tell her! She says she's gonna play next year. We'll see.
Sawyer wanted us to sign him up for wrestling. Jason was gung-ho and they attended a practice to watch and learn. He would've wrestled at the weight of 48 big pounds. However, we've decided to hold off for now. Maybe next year.
Sass is done with sports until spring. She's busy ballet-ing and tapping her heart away. We'll have to see what the spring soccer season brings!
Sumner has started basketball. He's our lone sporting man for the winter season. Games don't start until December, but I think I can handle one kid having one game a weekend!
One game on Saturday? Yea, we got that!
