Memorial Day Weekend Wrap-Up

The boys ended their preschool days on Friday. For Sumner it is a permanent situation! My little boy is headed to Kindergarten next year. Sawyer will go to the 3 year old class 3 days a week after Labor Day. Bebe still has until June 8th. I just can't fathom that she will be in 3rd grade next year! Anyway, we started off our weekend Friday night by going out to dinner with one of Jason's fraternity brothers and his wife and 2 kids that flew in from Texas. Their sweet little girls took to my kids right away and fun (and dancing) was had by all. The restaurant had live music and the kids were like groupies dancing right in front of the singers. The next day we had more fraternity brothers arrive from all over with their kids. We ended up with 11 kids (I think) and 9 adults. We watched the kids swim, went on boat rides, grilled out, watched the kids on the waterslide, had a glass of wine (or 2), snacked, fished, etc. A neighbor across the cove conveniently shot off fireworks to cap off a perfect evening. It was great. No one left 'til 10:30 or so! We partied for AT LEAST 12 hours! We had a great time. On Sunday, most everyone reluctantly went their separate ways, with the exception of one couple and their 2 kids who came back for more swimming, snacking, and boat rides. We had a great time, but I think we were all worn out. So, on Monday we just chilled out by the water again. The kids did a little swimming, but were happy to take breaks and just be bums. I actually finished reading a book...by myself...under the shade of the tree down by the water. AMAZING! Hope you had a great weekend, too!
