First Day of School

This was the first day of 1st grade! Technically...yesterday.

The whole family walked her to school and into her new room. It's so funny how super quiet the room is on day one. Give it about three days and that will change!!
She had a great time. She likes her teacher and saw lots of friends.

The highlights, straight from the horse's mouth, were:
*eating snack outside,
*the
entire first grade (apparently this was a HUGE deal) played on the playground together where she saw her bestie Brooklyn,
*she chatted so much at lunch she forgot to eat her dessert,
*she was sitting at the blue table, which matched her dress
*her teacher didn't even say anything about her wearing flip-flops!

Flip-flops are banned at school and I agree with that policy, but we put some in her backpack to wear during the day. Bebe had on the cutest pair of red patent leather moccasins/loafers to wear with her dress, but they were bothering her before breakfast was over. So, we changed to little black loafers, which apparently, even with socks, were still a smidge too big. Well, with time running out...we threw in some "nice" flip-flops (read: not rubber) and walked to school. No sense in breaking the shoe rules AND being late on the first day! AND furthermore, I am so absolutely frustrated with the shoe situation we are having this year...but that's for another post!

We walk Bebe to school, but she rides the bus home. It helps with nap time for Sawyer and she LOVES it! She rides for a total of 5 minutes, but she thinks it's BIG STUFF!

Here she is!!!

  1. She's so cute! We have a tennis shoe only rule and I hate it. The cute Mary-Jane keds stop at size 11, so she's wearing sporty shoes with her sweet little dresses! Yuck! Oh, well. And don't you looovvee the bus?? We just started it and I LOVE not waking the baby in the afternoons!
    Happy School to y'all!
