Our first tournament was this weekend. It was held in a convention center and in a sports complex. Each building held 16 courts! Um...16 courts. Side by side. Talk about crazy amounts of whistles going, balls bouncing, and people. Not to mention about 1,000 girls comprising 100's of teams with their matching hair bows, warm up suits, and backpacks. Then come the throngs of parents with their spirit wear. "Volleyball Mom" was everywhere...except on me. Not gonna happen.
Anywho, Bebe had a wonderful time. Her team totally stunk it up in the first game, but ended up doing a little better each game. By the end, they pulled it together. They ended up losing in the championship round in their division. I was very proud of the team. Bebe did well for her first foray into competitive volleyball.
Of course, she also enjoyed the team bonding. Swimming in the hotel's pool, going out for dinners, and hanging with friends was also a pretty big bonus for her. I think she also was pretty stoked that her siblings did not go with us for the 3 day weekend. It was just us girls. Jason stayed behind so the boys wouldn't miss their basketball games and Sass stayed with Papa and Jan. Also, Meme and Sonny came to watch every game...so she was feeling pretty special.
Her Team
Game One...she had to wear the same jersey as
everyone else...usually hers is different because
she is the libero.
Day Two...she finally has her libero jersey!
The view from our hotel room...not too shabby.
Bebe and her friend relaxing after Day Two.
Bebe saw these guys riding horses on the beach and
she was soooo jealous! There are actually
four horses in the pic. So pretty.
Out to dinner...sitting with her team! Bonding time!
Sunrise the morning of Day Three.
Celebrating being in the championship game!
Mommy and Bebe selfie on the beach!
Needless to say...she is already looking forward to the next tournament this weekend.
