I'm ready for the kids to be moving up and moving on in terms of maturity, but I miss the baby part. The snuggles. The baby smell. The first smiles and first toothy grins. Having that baby...that perfect baby...cup your face in his/her fat hand and then hug your neck with pure love.
But growing up has its perks...
They can talk to me. Ask me for help. Tell me what they need. Discuss meaningful topics. Discover a little bit more about who they are and what makes them tick. I love seeing who they're becoming.
Now, this baby...Sass, Sassy, Sassafrass...she's becoming something else! She's full of herself and fierce. Kinda like a hurricane...It might have a sweet name, but it's gonna wreak havoc! She's demanding and sure of herself. She cannot understand if she is not included in every playdate, conversation, planning, idea, etc. She's a mess.
