This Week/Weekend

This week we were underwater with things to do.

The boys both had baseball practice and it is going great.  We dodged most of the rain this week.  Sumner's team seems to be a good group of boys.  There's a couple of basket cases in terms of parents on the team!  Bless their hearts.  Sawyer's team...it's so strange.  I don't know hardly anyone on that team.  It's mostly first graders and since Saw is Kindergarten (and Sumner is 2nd) it's a group I just don't know.  I'll figure 'em out quick! ;)

All of the kids had soccer this week, even though poor Saw, who has missed so many practices due to rain, had to miss his on Wednesday.  But he had a good excuse!  He was a tag-along for a fun adventure.  Sumner's basketball coach arranged for the team to go to an NBA game.  And not only did the boys just get to see the game...they got to be on the floor for the National Anthem.  They were soooo excited.  I think they liked the act of coming out of the tunnel better than actually being on the floor.  You woulda thought they were superstars!

Waiting to come out of the tunnel.

So all week long we've also been getting stuff ready for a consignment sale.  We wanted to get rid of some old clothes, shoes, etc. and it is such a good way to make a little money back while cleaning out!  The day I drop off my stuff at the sale there is the greatest sense of freedom and relief! ha ha  Another good thing...I got like SIX pairs of baseball pants for the boys for about $15!

Then on Friday Jason & I took Bebe and a group of girls to see the movie Cinderella for a sort of belated birthday party.  She and 5 of her good friends ate pizza, had cupcakes, and opened presents.  Then we piled in my car and off we went!  It was such a good movie for them.  Shoot!  I even enjoyed it...it was a great retelling of the Disney version.  I love it when movies stick to the story!  ha ha    Jason and I sat about 2 rows away from the girls, but when I looked back they were totally into it...munching candy and occasionally whispering!  So, I'd say it was a success.
Sidenote:  Lucky for us...Nana and PawPaw Mason came and sat in a separate section with Sass, Saw, and Sumner, so that the younger kids could see it too.

Sass spent the whole weekend at Nana's too...so she's had a wonderful weekend!  I'm sure her week at home will pale in comparison!

Saturday I was supposed to take the boys to the school-sponsored Mother/Son Movie Night, but 1) I did not want to go because it's not fun  2) I had just taken the boys to the movies the night before  3) I did not want to go because it's not fun  4) the boys had already seen the movie & 5) I did not want to go becasuse it's not fun!  I know, I know...but the boys just want to run around and play and the moms just spend their time saying "Sssshhhh!"  So we planned to go out for Mother/Son Noodles & Co. night.  Sumner picked the place and I obliged.  But then Saw bailed so he could help his daddy work on a car.  So it was just Sumner and I and we had a great time.  Even did a little shopping!   Dinner and shopping with no complaining...he'll make some girl a GREAT husband.

Of course, a majority of the week I've been watching the college basketball tournaments.  I love tournament season!!!  The Tarheels were showing up and I was so excited!  They might not have won the tourney, but at least they were in the finals!  A tough loss to a bunch of pansies shamrocks though.  Onward and upward...let the big dance begin!

Sunday was one of those days that's just perfect.  I mean perfect temps, perfect blue sky!  Jason pulled together a little scrimmage between Sumner's baseball team and another team in the league and it was so great.  Just boys playing baseball FOR FUN!  No points kept, no parents yelling, nothing...just fun!

So this week I'm going to try to get up my Easter decorations, rearrange Sassy's room, and rearrange the boys' room.  I've got some things to do at the kids' schools and around the house!  Lots of practices for soccer and baseball, too!  Looks like another fun-filled week...plus the sun's out and the temps are up!
