Lately...

*So this past week the weather was still a bit cold, but ended with a warmer (and much anticipated) weekend.  Do you know how awesome 55 degrees feels after dealing with 28 degrees and rain/sleet/snow for weeks?  This week we might stay in the 60s.  Whoo hoo!  Rain is in the forecast...boo!

*Anyway, we got some soccer and baseball practices under our belts last week.  The big kids had a chance to get in some soccer and Sawyer is lucky enough to join in with them.  His have been rained out.  It's funny...when he practices with his teams it always seems like he's so old and his teammates seem so young.  I don't know.  He has his first baseball practice tonight if the rain holds off.  He is not on his brother's team this season as Sumner moved to the 8 year olds.  Sawyer is staying with the 7s that he was with last year.  That's still playing up because he's still 5!

*Bebe got into a special middle school that I was really hoping she would go to for 6-8 grade.  They have a lottery for the 100+ spaces and we got her acceptance letter yesterday.  I am relieved to have the option to go there.  Her regular middle school assignment is fine, but this other school is a little more academic overall.  She is excited to go to school today to see if some of her friends got it in, too.

*Sass is doing much better this week.  She's been eating a little more.  Poor girl.  She lost like 5, 6, 7 pounds and you could really see it in her face and arms.  Like a little elf.   She just has not wanted to eat much.  At least it helps with the food budget.  I mean she owes us $1500 for her tonsils and adenoids! ha ha  Why does everything cost so much?

*Having no money stinks!  (also see no money for a dress below)  I know...I'm whining.

*The daffodils are coming up!  Yay!  One of my favorite signs of spring.  Something about delicate flowers forcing their way into the harsh winter world.  Amazing.

*Been looking at dresses for a party that Jason and I have coming up.  I found one that I REALLY wanted!  The problem...it was on sale for $450 down from $1200.  Champagne tastes on a beer budget!  ha ha   Then I found the dress again on a bargain site for the low, low price of $350.  Ugh!  No other dress that I looked at seemed to compare.  Even the few I kinda liked were all $200!  I just can't spend that on a dress I might not wear very often.  Some can, I can't.  Party is in 2 weeks.  I still don't have a dress.

*The kids got their progress reports this week, too.  All good on that front.  I just have to find more time to read to them in the afternoon and/or at night.  I used to read with Bebe every night.  EVERY night!  I read every night with Sumner, too.  But somehow...that has just slipped away.  I still read, but just not every night.  Life, and bedtime, is just so crazy it is hard to find the time to sit still and read.  I gotta get on that...big time!

*The dog is a pain in the butt.  He chews up everything, runs around like a crazed animal, and won't listen for the world.  He barks like all day long too, UGH!  He seriously comes in hoarse at the end of the day!  I did move his bed, food, and water out into the garage though, and even though the kids don't like it...the house is much cleaner for it!  Praise Jesus!
