The Rest of the Week

This week was disrupted yet again by the weather.  We did get in 2 days of school!  That's one day better than last week!  We got about 4-5 inches of snow on Wednesday night.  And it, at least, was a really pretty one.  So many big, fat flakes just swirling and dancing by the porch light.  I stayed up to watch some since I knew we wouldn't be going to school the next day.  Jason and I watched the movie Boyhood.

I highly, well maybe not super highly, but sorta highly recommend it, which is kind of funny because it was very slow at times and seemed to have no point at all.   I guess that's the point...it's just life.  The coolest part about it was that is was filmed over 12 years and you get to see the cast age.  Very cool.  Jason fell asleep within the first 30 minutes.  Oh, and it's a bit long...like almost 3 hours. Nevertheless...Redbox...get it.

We watched another heartbreaker of a Carolina game.  They're killing me...they don't get beat...they beat themselves!  Let's not talk about it.

So the kids have been sledding and making snowmen.  Thanks so the purchase of L.L. Bean pants by Meme a few years ago the kids can really waller (a Southern term) in the snow, sled, build forts, etc. for hours and not get cold.  We also found Sass these bib overalls and coats awhile back that have been a saving grace.  I bought gloves last year...like REAL gloves...like $200 worth of gloves...for everyone and they've been awesome.  Nothing like real gloves to keep the kids outside and happy!  Worth Every Single Penny!  Amen and amen.
Bebe was supposed to come up with a creative snowman for her writing prompt.  This was an assignment from her teacher...so everyone helped make a snowman standing on his head!

On Friday we got up early and took Sass to a surgery center to have her tonsils and adenoids taken out.  She did great!  It is much easier when you've been through it twice before, but it still tugs at my heart and brings tears to my eyes when they take them back to the OR.  I mean, you just never know.

Drugs are gooood!

Waking up from surgery stinks.

Dancing to the music on the way home with
good pain meds...rocks!

Again, she did great and she's full of popsicles, ice cream, lollipops, and applesauce!  Bebe has been a champ and pulled major babysitting duty, or it's just being lazy, and hung out with her all day watching movies and eating candy and ice cream.  I mean...she's like a princess come home.  She has a little bell to ring for all of her needs...even though she can get her hiney up at anytime because she's fine!  We'll indulge her for the next day or two though.  Love that girl!

Never send an ice cream lover (Jason) to pick up a couple of extra
ice creams for the patient.  Yep...9 kinds!

So today...Saturday...she's been up and at 'em.  She went with Nana and PawPaw to take Bebe to volleyball.  She showed up at Sumner's basketball game, but left early because she was hungry.

Sumner lost his game in the playoffs.  His team was just a little out of sync.  They had several balls roll around the rim and roll out...so so frustrating. They lost by one.  Personally, I 'm glad the season is over.

It's time to warm up and play soccer and baseball.  Bebe is going to be finishing up her off-season volleyball at the end of March.  And this Month starts soccer for everyone but Sass.  She's taking the spring season off. ha ha  The boys are both starting baseball in a few weeks as well.  Sumner may even be doing a challenge baseball team on Sundays, too.  Looks to be a fun-filled spring.  If you need me I'll be at the ball fields!  ha ha
