First Day of School

It's back to school time!

These mugs went yesterday and although I'm sad it's the big sign that summer is over they were happy to see their friends.

This one in particular was ready to go back, albeit she was NOT looking forward to getting up early.  She's a night owl, and therefore, does not like getting up early.  She was beaming after school...she's such a student!

Sumner was kinda neutral to going back to school.  He likes the routine, but also loves to lounge around the house.  He's into how he looks this year.  Popping his collar (although one side kept flopping down) and spiking his hair up in the front.  If he thinks he's cool...well that's good enough for me.

And then there's this little stinker...a full-fledged Kindergartener today!  He was ready to go.  I think he really just wanted to ride the bus with his siblings.  Poor guy's been watching the big yella fella pick up and drop off his siblings nearly all of his life...and today was HIS TURN!  We walked him to school and he did great.  As we turned to leave him at his little table he tucked his chin and pretended to be very interested into a coloring sheet in front of him.  Jason said he did notice a little tremble of the chin, but no tears.  He held it together!  Jason later surprised him by having lunch with him and Saw seemed really pleased and a bit relieved to see him.  I think he needed a reminder that his parents are never really far away.  And at the end of the day...the kid nearly bounded off the bus...a smile as wide as Texas!  A little tired, but ready to go back!  Success!
Kindergarten here he comes!

The school crew!

Sass was asleep during pictures.  We only woke up the Beast right before we walked to the school.  She missed everyone while they were gone, but Mommy made up for it by planning a playdate at the park for her with one of her best friends!  Good Mommy!
