Belated Birthday Pix

I know I posted about Sawyer's birthday party that he shared with his bromance buddy, Reed.  However, I realized I never put up the pics from his little party at home.

He wanted cupcakes, which he got, with 5 candles...

Then he opened some gifts.  He wanted high tops.  Like really, really wanted high tops!  His big sister and big brother both have them for playing basketball and he totally coveted those things.  Furthermore, he kinda had a crush on this girl on Bebe's team.  Her name was Morgan.  And he wanted high tops just like Morgan!  ha ha  About a month before his birthday we tried some on and I bought them (bec. they were on sale) with the condition that he couldn't have them until his birthday.  He agree and he never complained or begged for them.  Not once.  Like I said he really, really wanted them.  So when he got them it was total bliss!

He also got some Crocs, a Cars VW bus, and baseball batting gloves...

These were great, but not high tops!  Actually, the gloves saved his baseball season.  He got dinged in the hand during a game and he decided he was not going to hit again.  He kept trying to back out of his turn to hit in the yard and at practice.  I was worried he'd not go up to bat during a game.  But I told him the new gloves would protect his hands and the ball wouldn't hurt his hands.  It worked like a charm.  He waltzed right up to the plate the very next game and got a hit!  I'm pretty sure it helped that some of the other, older boys on team wore batting gloves too.  I mean...sometimes ya wanna be cool right!
