Another Edition of...Let's Do the Math

I can't quite figure out why I always seem to have a FULL sink of dishes waiting to refill the dishwasher the moment it finishes a load?  I mean every time I fill the dishwasher and hit Start I turn around and there's like 15 some dishes waiting to be picked up and put in the holding area sink.

I guess I really out to do the figuring and just do the math...

At breakfast we probably use...
5 bowls
5 spoons
6 cups

There is always a mid-morning snack in which I marvel at the fact that they just ate and I just cleaned up and now they want a snack!  Paper plates, or using a spread out napkin, are a must here.  So there's a couple of spoons, knives, and probably 4 water bottles that will be leftover after a snack and a play date or trip out.

2 spoons
2 knives
4 water bottles

Lunch can be random.  I never know what we might serve...leftovers, crackers, fruit, sandwiches, etc.  We try to use paper plates or these plastic plates I handwash.  I used to give the kids a fresh cup for lunch and supper, but that would be 12 cups a day just for them so we do try to rinse out and reuse 1 cup for the day...but not always.
So since lunch can be random...I'm gonna go with an average here.

2 cups
4 plates
3 spoons
3 forks
2 knives
1 cutting board
1 storage container

Then for supper it'll look something like this...

2 pots
2 lids
4 bowls
6 plates
3 cups
3 serving spoons
2 knives
6 forks
1 cutting board
1 storage container

And I tell ya, if it's a dessert night (Fri., Sat., &/or Sun.)

5 cups
5 spoons

So, if you're still reading...let's do a total

That's
9 bowls
15 spoons
3 serving spoons
6 knives
9 forks
11 cups
4 water bottles
4 misc.
which equals 64 items!  And that's EACH DAY!  Or even more staggering 448 items to wash for the week! I cannot imagine what some households with 6, 7, 8+ kids must go through.  Much less the crazy Duggar clan!  ha ha

Y'all I can't believe the average total is 64!  Even I am shocked once I saw the number on the screen!  Such is life though.  Someday I'll miss the water bottles, the Disney-themed cups, and ice cream sticky spoons.  Ahh, some day!

*Disclaimer*  Please note that even though this post is called Let's Do the Math it does not mean that my math is exact.  I have been interrupted no less than 4 times during the typing of this post and have had to leave the computer for at least 2 of the 4 interruptions for an undocumented amount of time.  So, at this point in my life...my math is always shaky at best.
