Mad Dash Recap: Easter/Spring Break

Well, let's just jump right in here...
Putting eggs on our Easter Egg Tree

At first, Sass did NOT like the church egg hunt.  She angrily dumped out the first few eggs we helped her find until...
Daddy showed her that there were candies inside!
(This picture does not do justice to the scowl that
was on her face while Jason is trying to show her
that there are treats inside the eggs.)

Once she was properly reminded of the sweet prizes inside
she was a happy egg huntin' camper!
The bigger kids knew what to do...
and when it was their turn it was all systems go!  Our church had about 8,000 eggs divided into 5 groups. There's the 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and the All Ages groups, which makes it soooo much nicer than a free for all!

See the little boy in the teal shirt on the right?  He was literally talking 6 year old
smack  to Sumner.  They were both eyeing an egg that looked like a soccer ball.
You can see it out in the grass right past that other boy's hip.
Just so you know...Sumner got it! hee hee

We took a picture with the Easter Bunny after he arrived by helicopter!
Sass was too afraid to get in the picture. :{
Easter Sunday
The Easter Bunny came and brought chocolate bunnies and some jelly beans.  He also left an indoor egg hunt since it was raining a bit.  Smart bunny!
Then it was off to church!  Would you believe I forgot to take a picture of the kids in their Easter Sunday clothes!  Crazy mama.
After church we packed our bags and headed to Atlanta.  We stayed with the dearest people, (B & K thank you!) and had a great time.  We took the boys to the Atlanta Braves Opening Day game.  They had an awesome time!

We ventured into the insanely crowded world of the American Girl Doll store so Bebe could get her Look Alike doll's ears pierced.  Repeat..we got a doll's ears pierced.  For real...I know.  Bitty Girl got her very own Bitty Baby. (Thank you Nana and Paw Paw).

Jason and I also took the kids (minus Sass) to Six Flags one day.  The kids (including Jason) had a wonderful time visiting with some of the greatest characters of all time...Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, and the Pep...Pepe LePew!

The boys rode many of the "little kid" rides.  Sumner enjoyed some of the "medium" rides, too, but he wasn't quite tall enough for everything.  That being said...Bebe rode it ALL!  She rode a couple of rides that I wouldn't have been on for the world!

For example...
here she is riding Acrophobia...it takes you a mere 200 feet into the air.  See her sitting beside her Daddy?  She's the little girl in the purple pants.  Her father is the loon in the sunglasses waving.  Please note that acrophobia is an extreme or irrational fear of heights.  Luckily, I'm self-diagnosed with this condition therefore I wasn't able to go on this ride.  Plus, someone had to stay with her feet planted firmly on, the ground with the boys.

Here they are as they plummet to Earth at 1,000 mph landing on a soft cushion of air brake.  My heart has stopped at this point!

In case we weren't tired enough we headed to Blowing Rock!  We splashed and splashed in the indoor pool while it snowed, sleeted, and eventually rained outside!  We giggled and reveled in the hot tub...laughing in the face of winter's last blast!
We also were treated to a special dessert!  We asked for 2 scoops of ice cream with 4 spoons.  The waiter brought us 2 dishes of ice cream with four scoops in each covered with whip cream and a variety of chocolate, strawberry, and caramel sauces!  Can you say smiles all around?  Delish!
And that's it folks!  If you're still reading this...Congratulations for your patience
and HAPPY HAPPY SPRING!
