The NO in SNOW

Holy monsoon, Batman!  We haven't had sun here for 7 days.  No lie.  We actually got about 2-3 measly hours of sun on Sunday, but that doesn't count.  It rained and it rained and it poured yesterday.  The wind blew and the streets pooled with cold puddles.  I very nearly began to pull out a hammer and nails and began building an ark!

The temp hovered around 48 most of the day.  Our yard began to flood in certain low-lying areas.  The lake came up like a foot in about 4 hours!  We had some chairs out by the lake's edge that we had to move back or they would be underwater.

And last night, right on time...per our weatherman's forecast...it began to flurry.  At this point, the kids were finishing up a movie, were in their pj's, and planning to get out sleds for tomorrow.  They went to bed almost as excited as if it were Christmas Eve.

Then this morning, bless their hearts, nothing but a dusting...mocking them...glistening in the bright, bright sun!  No snow! :( I truly felt bad for them.  Last year we didn't get any snow and I'm so afraid that they won't get any this year.  Bebe totally remembers and loves the snow from previous years.  Sumner remembers it too and is ready to experience it again.  But Sawyer...I'm not sure he really remembers it (he was barely 2 the last snow).  And Sass...I mean let the girl play in some snow already!

I know to some of you Yankees, Northerners, what have you, you're thinking what is this chick's problem!? She's begging for snow!  I would say, YES!, yes I am!  But I want the perfect snow.  The criteria for the perfect snow are as follows:

Needs to be at least 4 inches, but not more than 8.
Needs to be a good packing snow for snowballs and snowmen.
Needs to be on a Friday night so Daddy can be home for 2 days to play.
Needs to either stay off the roads or at least be scraped clean by noon in case I need Starbucks.
No wind after the snow falls.  So we don't freeze while playing in the snow.
Hmmm...I think that's it, but I'm sure I'll think of something after I leave the computer.
