Bebe Conquers the World

So if you know anything about us or if you follow the blog at all you know that Bebe began to collect postcards from each of the 50 states last year as a 2nd grade project.  She collected all 50 plus a few duplicates.  Then some awesome and EXTREMELY thoughtful friends and family began to send her postcards from other countries.  So now she is going worldwide!

So far she has postcards from the following:
2 from Germany
Scotland
2 from France
Madagascar
3 from London
Portugal
Kandahar, Afghanistan (we're supposed to have received one more, but it's never come - pout)
Republic of Georgia (which is from a girl living in Azerbijan)
Switzerland
Costa Brava, Spain
Koh Samui, Thailand

Up next, we are hoping to get these in the near future:
Macchu Picchu
Singapore
New Zealand
Australia
Korea
maybe even Viet Nam and Dubai

This has been a great project for Bebe as it allows her to learn the location of the states here, but also become more geographically aware of the world.  When we started the US postcards we used a paper map of the US that we placed stickers on each state as we received a card.  We also have a great US map that my mom hand-sewed back in '77-'78 that we hung on the wall.  Now that we're going worldwide Santa might have picked up a globe at Goodwill for $5 that he/she can't wait to give her!  Also, the great Aunt Wanda gave us a paper map of the world to track our postcards as well.  Last week I put all of the postcards in a scrapbook to properly display Bebe's treasures.  She's very proud of it!

*If you know of anyone (that you trust with my baby girl's address) traveling outside of the US, please let us know!

*Thank you sooo much to all of our postcard supporters!  (especially Wanda & Johnny, Kaleb & Carrie, Katie & Brian, Anne & Paige - you are so great)
