For starters...I decorated with new stockings! What a relief to finally have a set of 6 stockings! I love them! (Thank you Nana!)

There is a looong back story to finally getting these stockings. So while I have your attention...Years ago after Bebe was born I found 3 lovely needlepoint stockings with a Christmas-y design befitting each person. Santa on rooftop for Jason, a snowgirl for me, and a gingerbread house and gingergread cookies for Bebe. I had the awesome forethought to buy another one with a reindeer on it that I thought would perfect for another child that we might have someday. Especially for a boy. Lo and behold, a few Christmases later we had a little boy who needed a stocking! Perfection. Then we decided to have another baby and so the search began for a needlepoint stocking. I searched the stores. I searched the Internet. But to no avail. The ones I was looking for did NOT have the space on top designated for personalization...which almost all do these days. Mine also had more of a 3D effect or crewel work maybe...I'm no needlepoint or embroidery expert fo' sho. Either way, I made do for 2 years while I searched each holiday season. Then when we added baby #4 I let the kids use the original four stockings while Jason and I reverted back to stockings from our childhood. That worked, but I still wanted to have a matching set of six. So after complaining for like 4 years that I could not find them and the stores would not stock them anymore...my gracious, dear, kind MIL bought me a set for Christmas! Hip Hip Hooray! (I think she was tired of hearing me bring up the stocking search every year! ha ha) Ah...my life is complete.
